The Excel comment list is one of two standard deliverables from a Xenmark review. It pairs with the commented PDF so the engineering firm can process each item by number.
Steps
- Check the Review Panel. Before exporting, open the Review Panel and confirm that all comments are complete, statuses are current, and there are no unresolved items you intended to close first. See Review Panel.
- Export to Excel. Use the export action to generate the comment list. Xenmark compiles all comments for the current revision into a structured spreadsheet.
- Review the exported file. Open the Excel file to verify that item numbers, comment text, and statuses are correct.
- Share the deliverable. Send the Excel file to the engineering firm or store it in your document management system. The file uses standard spreadsheet format and can be opened in any spreadsheet tool.
What the Excel file contains
The Excel export includes:
- Item number (matching the PDF export)
- Drawing reference
- Comment title and description
- Current status
- Replies — each reply as a separate row with author and reply text, grouped under the parent comment
Using Excel outside Xenmark
The exported Excel file is a standalone document. The engineering firm does not need access to Xenmark to read and process it. Once exported, the file is yours to distribute and store as part of your project record.
The Excel comment list is a coordination document. It is not a certified record, a formal contractual instruction, or a permanent archive by itself. Store the full archive bundle — available when you close the project — for a complete record of the review.
