How do I keep a drawing comment register?
Open a list you already keep — a CSV or an Excel workbook — and check how its columns line up with the fields before it is imported, or start typing entries from nothing.
Add an entry for each new comment, up to 500 entries, remove one that no longer applies, or use Sort by — for example by due date. Each entry’s comment ID stays with it however the register is sorted.
Select Prepare safe CSV, correct any listed field errors, then download xenmark-drawing-comment-register.csv before resetting or leaving the page.
How are comment numbers and dates kept intact?
A drawing comment register lists each review comment on a drawing with its number, owner, status and response. Open a list you already have, or build one here, and download it as a CSV that opens in Excel. Review text is not uploaded, autosaved or persisted.
Comment numbers and drawing references are held as text, real calendar dates are checked, and multiline comments and responses are safely quoted. Sorting is alphabetical, done by the tool itself, so a comment number like C-10 sorts before C-2. A comment or response starting with a dash is exported with a leading apostrophe, again the tool’s own doing, so it is never read as a formula. Once the CSV is opened, the spreadsheet makes its own choices too: Excel can drop a leading zero from a comment number like 014. If your reviewers comment on the drawings in Xenmark instead, it keeps this register for you: every comment is numbered, tracked by author and status, and exported as an Excel list.

Every row holds the reviewer's comment and the reply to it, up to 2,000 characters each, with line breaks kept inside a single quoted CSV cell.
Nothing leaves your machine
Nothing is uploaded. Files are read in this tab and processed in memory, with no account and no server for them to go to.
Who raised it and who owns it
Raised by and Assigned to are separate columns, alongside a due date and a status of Open, In review, Responded or Closed.
Comment numbers kept as references
Comment numbers and drawing references are stored as text, so a scheme like C-014 or 3.2 is sorted and exported without the tool reading it as a number. Sorting is alphabetical, so C-10 sorts before C-2.
A warning before unsaved comments are lost
Once any field holds text, the browser asks for confirmation before the page is closed or reloaded.
Nothing to install
It runs in the browser you already have. There is no plug-in, no desktop application and no sign-up to get through first.
Limitations
What this tool does not do, stated up front.
The nine columns and four statuses are fixed. You cannot rename them or add your own.
This version does not import comments, attach markups or sync with a project system. To read comments out of a marked-up PDF, use Export PDF Comments and Markups to Excel.
CSV does not enforce a universal spreadsheet display format; review dates, multiline cells and text handling in the target application.

Are comments sent to Xenmark?
No. Rows and review text stay only in this browser tab. Download the CSV before resetting or leaving because there is no upload, autosave or browser storage.
What is a comment response sheet?
A table that pairs each reviewer’s comment with the designer’s reply and its status. This tool keeps both in the same row.
Can I get comments out of a marked-up PDF instead of typing them?
Yes, with Export PDF Comments and Markups to Excel, elsewhere on this site. This register is for comments you type.
